Koa’s Haircut – Before & After

I have a fluffy, white”ish” dog. His name is Koa!

He is part maltese (hence the long, white hair), and part chiuaua (check out those ears!). He’s about 10 lbs.

He’s a happy dog. He’s 5 years old, but he still very much looks like a puppy. In fact, even the vet thought he was a puppy when I took him in the other week!

He’s not a yappy little dog. He is calm. He doesn’t run around in circles and he’s not full of extra energy. He listens really, really well and he loves ME! He follows me everywhere and he sleeps curled up in my arms or on my feet.

Yesterday I took Koa in for a haircut. Its been in the 90’s here and with all that hair, I was certain poor Koa was dying of heat! I usually get his hair cut four times a year. Most of the time in the summer to keep him cool and because we’re always camping, out on boats or hiking it is much easier to clean him up when he has short hair!

And this is after. His ears are the best! He keeps them back and when he hears something that interests him, they shoot straight up! Here all I said was “treat” and up they went…

I love it! haha I have them cut it a little on the short side since I know his hair grows real fast. So in a week or two it will be just where I want it. But, I love him with both long and short hair. He looks like a different dog, doesn’t he?

But, those precious brown eyes are the same and THAT’S what I love! See, he’s even giving a little smile for the camera…

And, there ya have it. Koa’s before and after. He lost a few pounds just by cutting his hair off! Isn’t he handsome?

I think he likes his hair cut too!
