Kristy - Top 10 Reasons I love being a mom!

1. Teegan is a hard headed carefree-spirit & under all that torn up toilet paper and tipped over laundry baskets he is my little free thinking rebel.
2. Being a boy-mom even reminds me of all the little reasons why I fell in love with my husband. Teegan may be a mama’s boy, but he is Iain’s mini-me.
3. The excuse to take an insane amount of pictures (just call me “Mama-razzi”
4. I am never at a loss for something to talk about as long as the person I’m talking to has kids. Seriously – ten minutes of mom-to-mom (or even mom-to-dad) sharing and I can be best friends with anyone
5. Hearing my son tell me “Your already pretty mama” when I’m putting on my makeup
6. I love being a kid with my son.. He teaches me to keep life simple, and live in the moment.
7. Hearing Teegan say things in his toddler language (Teegan talk) that sound so cute and funny!
8. He is a little boy who will one day be a man, all his own. And while it scares me to think one day he will; break hearts, fall in love, raise a family of his own, it also brings a deep pride to know we are the one’s teaching him how to do it!
9. Being the mommy of a BOY. Yellow dump-trucks. Choo-choos. garbage Trucks & Firemen trumps Barbies and tea parties… I must say…. On the bright side, at least we only have to worry about one boy instead of ALL of them!
10. Becoming a mother and all the growth I have had since Teegan entered my life!!!!

I LOVE BEING A MOM :)

Liz Miller - Your pictures are beautiful, I love the children and the family photos. This reminds of why I love being a Mom, you love your children and enjoy the smiles and laughter and being silly with them. I the childhood I always wanted, silly, silly! Playing in the sand, throwing it in the air, raking leaves and then jumping in the pile and laughing till you cry. My sons are never far from my mind, what a true blessing they are.

Jennifer - I LOVE my mom because as crazy I she is she always is there for me no matter what. If I need her at 5am or 2am or to meet up for lunch she’s always a phone call away. She taught me to sew, cook, clean and how to love and I thank her for it!

Judi Franich - I’ve gone from the “take-care-of-the-kids” mom to “my-kids-turned-out-incredible” mom. Having children who are in their late 20’s and early 30’s is so exciting! My girls call for advice, have taken over planning family vacations, taking care of our home at Tahoe and ABSOLUTELY take care of “mom”. Young children are wonderful, too, but the older they get, the more I admire them and am so happy that they still love and care for me so much! Judi Franich

Jen - Being a mom is the toughest job I’ve ever had (kinda wish the pay was higher ;)) but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I recently quit my job so I could stay at home with the kids and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to witness their “firsts” every day. And now that I have two, it’s the most beautiful thing to see them love one another. It’s my job to make sure that they always treat each other, & everyone else in this world, with gentle kindness. I pray that they will be best friends and one day I can say that I had a part in building that relationship. Being a mommy is awesome.

Jen - I liked ya on FB. But sorry, I’m not cool enough to do twitter!

May 4, 2011 - 5:09 am

Juli - I love being a mom because of all the little things. When she runs to the door yelling “Mama!” when I come home from work, when she grabs my cheeks and lays a big smoochie on me, when she throws a temper tantrum and then wants a hug, and most of all when she lays on my lap and smiles as we read a bedtime story. I love being a mom because Katie Sue makes my life heavenly in the most beautiful way!

May 4, 2011 - 5:11 am

Juli - I already like you (in real life and on facebook! haha) but I “liked” your post about this contest, does that count?? :)

Melissa Koning - I know I live far away, but I do have plans to be in the Bay Area for a visit in the not too distant future. 😉

My favorite thing about being a mom is seeing all of the new and fun things Grace is learning. It is just amazing to watch her and she is starting to be pretty darned funny.

Josi Swonetz - I am a mommy to be still. But even though it may be uncomfortable sometimes I love feeling my baby boy move. It keys me know he is okay. The love I feel for this little person I haven’t met yet it crazy. He is everything. I’m so excited to be his mother.

I love my mom because she is the greatest support ever and I look to her as my role model for being a mom. This has not been the easiest pregnancy. I was hopspitalized after a routine check up and told that my baby was in danger of being born before viability. I had a surgical procedure performed and have been on modified bed rest for the past ten weeks. My mom has been a great support thesepast few months. She flies from the Bay to San Diego every other week to take care of me and take me to my dr appointment while my husband is at work. She cooks, cleans, and puts upwith my crazy hormonal mood swings. Most of all she is there for me. Having her here is wonderful and makes the days go by faster.I have three week left until officially off bed rest and four until I’m full term! I don’t think I would have got this far without the support of my mother.

Josi Swonetz - Does it count that I already liked you on FB?

Stacey Garcia - Well I am not a mother yet, far from it in fact. However, I have an amazing mother that is constantly reminding me what a great mom truly is! I am 22 years old and went away to college 300 miles away on my 18th birthday. Very few were the days when my mom didn’t call to check up on me and make sure I was safe, fed, and in good health. I think out of everyone on my dorm floor, I must have received the most care packages (almost all from my loving mom of course)! After receiving the 24-pack Costco-sized Chicken Flavor Top Ramen package, I don’t think I will ever be able to eat that stuff again as long as I live, but I will certainly always remember how much my mom loves me even from a great distance. 4 years later, I now live a lot closer to my mom again (about 10-15 miles to be exact) and she still calls to check up on me and make sure I am doing okay. (I have realized it is just a “mom thing” embedded in her.) There have been a few times where I have been sick as a dog and she has never hesitated to rush over and make me some tea, soup, or other “mom remedies” of hers. I think my absolute favorite motherly thing that she does though, is she will tell me to go to bed to get some rest and she will still tuck me in!! Sometimes I feel like getting sick just to get her to come over and tuck me in like when I was a kid. It’s the best and it never EVER gets old!!! Love you, Mom!!

Keith - The best thing about moms is the fact that you can always call them and tell them about anything you may need to, and they wont judge you whether its good or bad. The support they give you for your ambitions and dreams, inspire you to be who you are.
